Daraja Taraji Project

Daraja Taraji - Bridge of Hope

Connecting vulnerable children with opportunities for a brighter future

About the Project

Daraja Taraji, which means "Bridge of Hope" in Swahili, is ASOH's flagship education support project designed to create sustainable pathways out of poverty for vulnerable children across Africa. This comprehensive program goes beyond traditional scholarship models to provide holistic support that addresses the multiple barriers preventing children from accessing and succeeding in education.

The project recognizes that educational success requires more than just covering school fees. Through Daraja Taraji, we provide comprehensive support including tuition, uniforms, school supplies, nutritional support, mentorship, and psychosocial counseling. We work closely with families and communities to ensure that children not only attend school but thrive in their educational journeys.

Since its inception, Daraja Taraji has transformed the lives of hundreds of children, many of whom have gone on to secondary school, vocational training, and higher education. The project creates a "bridge" that connects children from circumstances of vulnerability to futures filled with hope and opportunity.

Success Story

"Before Daraja Taraji, I had given up hope of ever going to school. My parents couldn't afford the fees, and I spent my days helping at home. ASOH not only paid for my education but also provided me with a mentor who believed in me. Today, I'm in my final year of secondary school and dream of becoming a doctor to serve my community. Daraja Taraji truly built a bridge to my future." - Grace, 17, Scholarship Beneficiary
